KFC-Style Quail with Spicy Mayo

A delicious kfc-style quail with spicy mayo recipe.

Ingredients

For the Quail:

2 quail (or substitute with chicken wings)

100 ml buttermilk

150 g seasoned flour (see recipe below)

Lemon wedges, for serving

For the Seasoned Flour (makes a large batch):

500 g plain flour

50 g garlic powder

50 g smoked paprika

50 g onion powder

25 g Cajun spice

5 g turmeric

Pinch of salt

For the Spicy Mayo:

200 g full egg mayonnaise

2 tbsp smoked paprika

4 tbsp chili sauce

Method

  1. Prepare the Quail: Soak the quail in buttermilk for at least one hour, or preferably overnight.

  2. Coat the Quail: Remove the quail from the buttermilk and evenly coat them with the seasoned flour.

  3. Cook: Place the coated quail in an air fryer and cook at high heat for 8-10 minutes until crispy and cooked through.

  4. Make the Spicy Mayo In a jar, combine the mayonnaise, smoked paprika, and chili sauce. Shake well to mix.

  5. Serve: Plate the cooked quail with lemon wedges and serve alongside the spicy mayo for dipping. Enjoy!
